American Leak Detection, Inc. Supports Effort Toward Resolving Middle Eastern Water and Environmental Issues

The International Franchisor Sponsors Seminar Series for Arava Institute for Environmental Studies

Palm Springs, California (August 1, 2008) - American Leak Detection (ALD), an international franchisor and leading provider of non-invasive water and other leak detection services is pleased to announce their support and sponsorship of “Transboundary Environmental Management Seminars,” a series by the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (Arava Institute).

“The Arava Institute is the premier environmental teaching and research program in the Middle East, preparing future Arab and Jewish leaders to cooperatively solve the region’s environmental challenges,” says David Weisberg, Arava Institute’s Executive Director. “When it comes to clean air and clean water, nature knows no borders.”

The Arava Institute allows Jewish, Arab and other students to study and live together for an extended period of time enabling future cooperative work on environmental and other issues in the Middle East and beyond.

“We’re proud to support the Arava Institute’s efforts to address these environmental issues on a trans-boundary basis,’ says Stan Berenbaum, CEO of American Leak Detection. “It’s not only important in terms of protecting the environment, but hopefully it can serve as a catalyst in bringing peace to a region historically marked by conflict.”

Beginning in early September 2008, the seminars will bring together a team of environmental management professionals from Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority. These professionals will discuss their work on cooperative water management and other environmental issues, presenting real world success stories from the Middle East. They will also discuss how the trans-boundary environmental protection model can be applied in other regions facing water scarcity, including the seminar host locations.

The seminars will take place on September 9th at UCLA Law School in Los Angeles, California; September 10th at the University of Utah Law School in Salt Lake City, Utah; September 11th at Denver University in Denver, Colorado; and, September 12th at Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado.

Media is welcome to attend and the seminars are open to the public at no cost.
